Our services were offline for about 10 minutes at about 11:35 today due to a network outage at the data centre. Everything is now back up and working. We apologise for any inconvenience.
We have been unable to deliver emails to Virgin Media email addresses for some time due to an issue with the incorrect setup of the new virgin media mail servers. Virgin media have been totally unhelpful at helping resolve this issue, but we have now implemented a work around and email is now flowing again.
We are currently having issues delivering email to virginmedia and ntlworld email addresses. It seems that Virgin Media have recently updated their email service and are now blocking email delivery from large areas of the internet. Our webmail service has now been upgraded to RoundCube Webmail. This replaces squirrel mail, which has been getting a bit dated, but is still available for people who prefer it. Both can be accessed by the usual /webmail URL.
Last night a compromised email account was used to send a large number of SPAM emails from the server. This has caused the server to be temporarily blocked by some services. We have recently updated the email security certificate. If you use a secure connection to the mail server, you may get a warning from your email program that the certificate for mail.cambridge-website-hosting.co.uk has changed. It is safe to ignore this warning.
